Amazing story of Edvards Liedskalniņš (1887-1951).
He was a stonemason that came from Vidzeme (North Latvia) all the way to USA after his bride to be changed her mind and left him at the altar. Rest of his life he dedicated to build the Coral Castle in Florida as a tribute to her.
How did he do it?
A mysterious sculpture garden made from 1,100 tons of stone, place that no one knows how he was able to construct without any modern construction conveniences. Ed would only say that he knew “the secret of the pyramids.” When he died, his secrets died with him, and to this day scientists and thinkers still debate Ed’s methods.
Hit song “Sweet 16” by Billy Idol is created inspiring from Edvards love story.
